On Friday, September 13, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers held their annual golf tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course—Capitol Hill, located in Prattville, Alabama. The annual tournament is a signature fundraising event for CrimeStoppers. From a winning hole-in-one shot to record-breaking fundraising efforts, this year’s event will be one that will not soon be forgotten.
For those not familiar with the organization, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers’ goal is to build stronger relationships with local law enforcement agencies, media, and the citizens of Alabama to empower people to make their communities safer through anonymous reporting of crimes. Since 1997, CrimeStoppers has received more than 16,138 anonymous tips from the public and has offered more than $293,000 in cash rewards to anonymous tipsters. Those tips have helped law enforcement and citizens file over 10,167 criminal charges and placed over 3,193 criminals behind bars.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers Executive Director, Tony Garrett and his staff are humbled and thankful to the corporate and community tournament sponsors for their continued support. Supporters helped raise $164,560.00 for the 2024 CrimeStoppers Golf Tournament. Not only did CrimeStoppers raise a substantial amount of funds to support their daily operations, but they also gained $10,000 thanks to one of the tournament player’s lucky shots on a prize-winning hole-in-one. The $20,000.00 hole-in-one paid $10,000.00 to the winner, and $10,000.00 of the proceeds were donated to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, bringing the total of funds raised to $174,560.00
Funds raised will support our existing web-based and telephone crime reporting system, our P3 Tip Management System for Law Enforcement, our expansion to new communities, our reward program, and our school resource officer and law enforcement training programs.
Fundraisers and continued support from the community allow Central Alabama CrimeStoppers to be one of the best CrimeStoppers programs in the nation. We would like to thank Law Enforcement and our media partners for placing your trust in us as we witness missing persons being located, crimes being solved, and fugitives being captured as we work together to make our communities safer. We would like to say a special “Thank You” to the citizens who have spoken up and have been empowered to say something after witnessing a crime or seeing a CrimeStoppers segment.
