Montgomery, Ala. — CrimeStoppers 215-STP is paying a $1,000 reward to an anonymous tipster
whose information helped lead investigators to the identity and arrest of a suspect in a fatal shooting
on Grove Street.

Montgomery police said officers responded to the 900 block of Grove Street at about 2:23 a.m. on
Saturday, April 11, 2026, after receiving a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found
35-year-old Andre Smith suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Smith died at the scene.
Police also said a woman was found with non-life-threatening injuries from the same incident. She
was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Montgomery Police Department said 40-year-old Kimayactha Watson was identified as a suspect
in the homicide investigation. Watson was arrested Friday and is being held without bond at the
Montgomery County Detention Facility.
