Covington County, Ala. – The United States Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive
Task Force (GCRFTF), Montgomery Office, has arrested John Caton Lee, who was wanted by
the Covington County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for Failure to Appear – Unlawful
Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance.
Following investigative efforts and information provided by CrimeStoppers 215STOP, officers
determined that Lee was residing at 413 Patrick Road in McKenzie, Alabama. On March 11,
2026, members of the GCRFTF, along with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA),
Covington County Sheriff’s Office, and Butler County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the address
to take Lee into custody.
Although Lee had fled the residence before officers arrived, a K-9 search led investigators to find
him hiding in the woods behind an abandoned shed. Lee was arrested without further incident
and transported to the Covington County Jail.
The swift arrest of John Caton Lee highlights the continued success of cooperative law

Covington County, Ala. – The Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the United States
Marshals Service, Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF), are asking for the
public’s assistance in locating wanted fugitive John Caton Lee.
Lee is wanted for Failure to Appear on a charge of Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled
Substance. He has an extensive history of criminal activity and is believed to have numerous
friends and family in Covington, Butler, and Conecuh counties in Alabama. Investigators have
received information that he has returned to the Covington County area on numerous occasions.
Lee may be in Andalusia, Georgiana, Covington County, or Mobile.
Lee is described as a 45-year-old white male, approximately 6’2” tall and weighing about 175
pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of John Caton Lee is urged to contact
