MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Police Department has charged a suspect in
connection with the 2024 shooting that resulted in the death of Eldren Wright, 22.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at about 6:15 p.m., MPD responded to a local hospital
in reference to subjects shot. Officers located Wright who sustained a life-threatening
gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on October 29, 2024. The preliminary
investigation determined that the incident occurred in the 1000 block of Liberty Square
Drive.

MPD has charged Kadarius Griggs, 19, with two counts of Capital Murder and three
counts of Attempted Murder. Griggs was taken into custody on October 10 and booked
into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

proven guilty in a court of law.
