Award Presented to Dadeville Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year

On May 28, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded Officer Nathan White with the esteemed title of Dadeville Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStopper of the Year.

Dadeville Police Chief Johnathan Floyd wrote:

“It is my honor to nominate Officer Nathan White as our nominee for the CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year Award.

On April 15, 2023, Officer Nathan White responded to a mass casualty event at Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio. Officer White’s swift arrival, within a minute of receiving the call, thrust him into a scene of chaos and imminent danger.

With exceptional skill and presence of mind, Officer White immediately prioritized scene safety and the protection of civilians. Despite the evident danger posed by active shooters, Officer White fearlessly navigated the situation, utilizing his years of knowledge and experience to assess and address the crisis effectively.

Officer White’s actions epitomized bravery, wisdom, and composure in the face of grave risk.

Award Presented to Troy Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year

On August 13, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded K-9 Officer Stephen Eagen with the title of Troy Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year. 

Troy Police Chief, Randall Barr wrote:

“It is my honor to nominate K-9 Officer Stephen Eagen as our nominee for the CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year Award.”

Officer Stephen Eagen has been with the Troy Police Department for eight years and has been assigned to the narcotics detection K-9 unit, since November of 2019. During his time as a K-9 handler, Officer Eagen has distinguished himself as one of the hardest working officers in the department and a has displayed a true passion for fighting the scourge of illegal narcotics

During Officer Eagen’s time as a K-9 handler, he has made 130 Felony arrests with a total of 268 charges along with 258 misdemeanor arrest. Officer Eagen is not only a hard-working K-9 handler but has also carried that work ethic over to the Troy Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, which he has been a member of since August of 2021.

Officer Eagen is a true team player for the department and is known to volunteer for any extra duty assignment that he can assist with, as well as assisting the School Resource Officers when needed. I believe Officer Eagen’s hard work, passion for his job and constant effort to become the best officer he can be is a great example to the other officers. With all these achievements in mind, I believe Officer Stephen Eagen is worthy of this award”.

Award Presented to Dadeville Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Community Relations Officer of the Year

On May 28, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded Chief Jonathan L. Floyd with the esteemed title of Dadeville Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStopper Community Relations Officer of the Year. 

CrimeStoppers Executive Director Tony Garrett wrote:

“It is my honor to award Chief Jonathan Floyd as the CrimeStoppers Community Relations Officer of the Year.”

Amidst the tragic events of Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio in Dadeville, AL, Chief Jonathan Floyd exemplified remarkab

le professionalism and compassion. With four individuals tragically killed and 32 others injured in a mas

s shooting, Chief Floyd’s response transcended the local community. His heart was on display to the entirety of Alabama and reaching a national television audience. 

Utilizing his extensive knowledge and experience, Chief Floyd swiftly assessed the gravity of the situation and responded with exceptional multi-tasking and resource utilization. Recognizing the overwhelming emotional toll on his Police Department’s staff, Chief Floyd demonstrated remarkable foresight by mobilizing neighboring agencies to provide essential support and fill critical service gaps.

Chief Floyd’s dedication extended beyond the call of duty as he made himself readily available to citizens in their time of need. His proactive outreach and unwavering presence provided comfort and support to those most affected by the tragedy.

Award Presented to Alexander City Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year

On May 20, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded Officer Daniel Lewis with the title of Alexander City Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year. 

Alexander City Captain T.J Tuck wrote:

“It is my honor to nominate Daniel Lewis as our nominee for the CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year Award.”

Officer Daniel Lewis has advanced from a Correction Officer to an Animal Control Officer, to a Certified Police Officer and now serves as a Field Training Officer for the Patrol Division. 

 

Officer Lewis goes above and beyond to do what is asked of him. Officer Lewis always has a smile on his face and takes each opportunity to make others happy.  He talks with the public as he has known them his whole life.  He is the first to give out of his pocket when he sees someone in need.  He never sweats the small things in life and brings a great approach to his job along with being an example to all, showing others how to be a great humanitarian.
