Update as of 5/5/2026:

Sheriff Harrell confirmed that Taylor Cox, 28, was arrested Wednesday night on County Road Cox was wanted on two felony charges of possession of child pornography. According to the sheriff, deputies were approaching the residence when Cox fired several shots at law enforcement officers. Cox later surrendered shortly afterward without further incident.

In addition to the original charges, Cox now faces pending charges in Autauga County for
attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

Selma, Al. — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Taylor Cox, who is wanted on two
felony charges of possession of child pornography.

Investigators say Cox was found in possession of multiple images and videos depicting child sexual
exploitation. Warrants have been issued for Cox’s arrest following an ongoing investigation by law
enforcement officials.

Authorities say Cox has fled the Huntsville area and may be hiding in or around Selma, Alabama.
Police ask anyone who may have seen Cox or has information on his location to come forward
immediately.
