Alexander City, Ala. – Police say on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at approximately 7:40 p.m.,
Alexander City Police officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Parkway Apartments.
Upon arrival, officers located 29-year-old Jarryl Slaughter, who was suffering from an apparent
gunshot wound.

Slaughter was transported to Russell Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
